Damn, that was ugly.
Last night the Nationals and the Marlins put on a ten-inning display
of pitching virtuosity, ending in a 1-0 Florida victory.
Tonight... tonight was messy. 16-10 Florida, when it was all over,
with both managers and at least four players ejected.

Nice tackle by Gaby Sanchez, though.

So Jim Riggleman has now served his suspension, and in his absence the
Nationals lost one, 8-5, and won one, 9-2.

I hope they can take tomorrow's game for the series win.

The Nats won their third in a row today, beating the Mets 13-3.

They've been on an offensive tear lately -- 84 runs in their last
eleven games.

This is their sixtieth win of the season, by the way, which is one
more than they managed for all of 2009, so that's good to see.

And there's a rookie called up for September who we may be hearing
about a lot in the future -- Danny Espinosa. He's played in five
games now, and is hitting .563, with three homers. Two of those
homers came today; the second was a grand slam.

He plays good defense at shortstop, too.
